A native of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, I grew up eating pierogies, haluski, and Mrs. Grass chicken soup; listening to oldies on my dad’s jukebox while he taught me how to play pool; watching old Batman episodes and cheesy cop movies with my brother; and reading anything I could get my hands on.
I earned a BA in English with a minor in writing from Susquehanna University and an MFA in Creative Writing from George Mason University.
I was the 2009 Kathy Fish Fellow and writer-in-residence at SmokeLong Quarterly, and I am now a member of its editorial staff. My story, "Ode to the Double-Crossed Lackey in 'Thunderball'" was nominated for Dzanc's Best of the Web series for 2009. My short story "They" was published in Pindledyboz and was a storySouth Million Writers Award notable online story in 2004. Another story, "Hole to China," was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. I currently live and work in a suburb of Washington, D.C., and am learning how to play the piano.
